SoCal Six Meter Nets
We'd like to thank Dan, N6BKL, his contributions to this list.
NOTE: All times listed are Pacific Time unless otherwise noted
Starting with:
Fridays, 8PM, the San Diego Six Shooters' Club holds an 'open' net over the N6LXX linked 6M repeater system. Multiple rptrs include: 53.58-, tone 103.5 (San Diego area), 53.58-, tone 107.2 (high desert area), and 53.62-, tone 107.2 (greater LA area). Net control is Joe, N6SIX. Wide area coverage.
Saturdays, 8:00pm, the Western States Weak Signal Society 6M net is held on 50.135MHz USB, with STEVEN KG6TCV in Nuevo as the net control operator and he is usually in there 15 - 30 minutes ahead of time for early checkins. This is a relatively new net and participation IS NOT limited to WSWSS members, so get out there and be heard!
Sundays, 9:30AM, the California Award Hunters' 6M net is held on 50.175mhz, upper sideband, with Frank KA6BUY of Long Beach as net control. This net is held in conjuntion with (& following) a long-standing 9AM net held by this group over 145.52 (formerly 146.52).
Sundays, 10AM, the Southern California Six Meter Club holds its "AM Roundtable Net", conducted by Will Anderson AA6DD of Perris. It is held on 50.400 mhz, amplitude modulation.
Sundays, 7PM (mtn.std time), the Arizona Boat Anchor Radio Society holds its amplitude modulation net on 50.400, with net control in the Phoenix area.
Mondays, 8:00PM, the San Diego Six Shooters SSB Net takes place on 50.200 mhz USB and is hosted by Mike, N6IEF. Verticle polarization works best for this net.
Tuesdays, 8:00PM, the Southern California Six Meter Club holds its SSB Net, conducted on 50.150 mhz., and is generally hosted by Will Anderson out of Perris.
Wednesdays, 7:00PM, the San Diego Six Shooters ARC holds its "Six Shooter Shoot-Out" on the KR6FM/SDSS repeater (53.660 (-) 107.2pl). This net is OPEN TO ALL amateur radio operators and the net control operator is Mike, KG6WLS.
Thursdays, 7:30 PM, the Southern California Six Meter Club holds its "FM Repeater Net" over the 'CARS' network. It is hosted usually by Dan O'Connor N6BKL. Net is conducted over the following linked repeaters:
Frazier Mtn rptr (52.56 -), the (Malibu) Buzzards' Roost rptr (51.94-), Barstow rptr (52.68-), & the Lompoc rptr (52.94-). In trial period is a new link with the Chino Hills rptr (53.84-). These repeaters all require an access tone of 82.5hz. Wide area coverage.
Thursdays, 8:00PM, the Amateur Radio Club of El Cajon's San Diego Digital VHF net. The SDDVHF meets every Thursday evening (except the second Thursday when it is the AREC meeting) at 8:00 p.m. local (0300Z) on 50.291 Mhz., using the PSK31 mode. Everyone is invited to get on the waterfall and have some fun on using this digital mode. Net control is Ed, AI6O.
VERTICAL POLARIZATION is the norm for the above listed nets, and all are 'open'. Please keep me informed of any other nets for 6M in the SW or Pacific regions, as well as any updates or corrections to be made.
Growing widespread use of 50.300 FM has recently produced many interesting and unexpected DX contacts throughout North America. It is ideal for those operators whose antenna favor the low 'DX' end of the band. Be sure to include it into memory and scan groups wherever applicable.
Thanks for the interest. 73's de N6BKL
